Eli Pariser – The World Needs You to See it With Fresh Eyes   Leave a comment

This article shows that a lot of the organizations and systems that are active or in use today are made by mistake or by a small group of people just doing what they think is right. Eli Pariser launched an online petition based on what he felt he was obligated to do as an American, and now he’s a famous political and internet activist.

It’s also an important point when Eli said that there are no experts. The “experts” on everything started out as regular people just like us. He really does a good job explaining that you have just as much of a chance to make a difference as an “expert” or anyone else.

It makes me believe that if I don’t like something about our government, or the world, or anything at all really, that I have the power and just as much of a chance to change it as anyone else does. I think most people believe that the “experts” must know what they’re doing more than we do because they’ve done it their whole life, or they went to school for it, or come from a family whose reputation deals with that particular subject.
