I thought the Yes Men were very funny. That was probably one of my favorite things in the class this year. These guys go out and do ridiculous things, like pretend to be a corporate business man on national TV. I could never do that, for fear of going to jail or being sued or something like that. These guys do raise awareness with their tactics, however, and while it may not be the most conventional way to “protest”, it certainly works. I went home and watched the movie again. It’s amazing to me that these big companies like the news channel the guys went on didn’t even check his background. This shows that they put him on the air because they took him at face value on it. As a news agency, to me it seems like they did it because they were in a hurry, they wanted to be the first ones to report the good that this guy was doing, for their benefit.
